It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of Life Member Frank Sweet Jr.
Frank Sweet joined the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company on January 23, 1956 where he served as a Fire Fighter, Mechanic and familiar face at Saturday night BINGO, long after his active firefighting days.
Frank was the oldest living member of the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company at 94 years old when he passed away.
The family of Frank Sweet requests that a GoFund Me account be established to assist with the funeral expenses. There is no life insurance and the burden has been left to his daughter and son in law who are on a fixed retired income.
The Manassas Volunteer Fire Company was privileged to capture, in his own words, his involvement with the Company along with the other members serving 50 years or more in the video “We Went to Fires; When the Whistle Blew”.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated by the family.
