ENGINE AND RESCUE 501 RESPOND TO A FIRE ALARM, UPGRADED TO HOUSE FIRE IN THE 9300 BLOCK OF SUMNER LAKE BLVD. (1ST DUE)

At 1715hrs Box 81-23 was transmitted for a fire alarm activation in the 9300 block of Sumner Lake Blvd. While Engine and Rescue 501 were responding, communications advised they were upgrading the incident to a box alarm. Rescue 501 arrived on scene to a single family home with 2 stories over a basement with nothing evident from the street. Engine 501 arrived on scene and established a water supply while the lineman promptly stretched the 300' pre connect to the front door all while the officer made a lap finding a fire in the kitchen area. Tower 501 arrived and threw several ground ladders while rescue 501 conducted searches of the house which turned up negative. Fire was extinguished and held to the kitchen with minimum damage. Units picked up and went ready at 1810hrs.
