Enemy
of the State
©1998 Touchstone Pictures |
In
1998, our old Wagon 1 (1982 Hahn) was used in the
Touchstone Pictures movie Enemy of the State. As
you can see in the clip, the word "Manassas" on the
front of the cab was covered with a magnetic sign
that had D.C.F.D.
on it as well as a magnetic DC patch on the driver's
door.
Shortly after this scene was made, the old Wagon
was refurbished (ruined) to become the current Engine 501A. |

The
Love Letter
©1998 Hallmark Entertainment |
This
movie was made in 1997 by Hallmark Entertainment.
They used the Chief's buggy and the old Wagon (same
one as above) for a building fire scene that was
filmed in Richmond.
You can also see MVFC Firefighters Matt Lausch and
Dan Holman on the hoseline. Just look for the black
gear. |

In
2003, the Discovery Channel aired a show called
"Critical Rescue". This episode was about a train
wreck in Orange County, California. To recreate the
scenes on the interior of the commuter train, they
used similar rail cars at the Virginia Railway
Express station at the Manassas Airport.
Several MVFC volunteer and career firefighters
participated in the filming of the scenes.
Volunteer members Josh McCuin, Matt Lausch, Steve
Kasarda, Steve Denton, Frank Flanagan and career
firefighters Mike Rohs and Ron Stanley were filmed.
You can pick out the Manassas guys because
they wore their MVFC issued leather helmets, with the
big 1 on the front panel. |
