MEMBERS PARTICIPATE
IN LIVE FIRE TRAINING BURN |
|
January
37, 2001
- Today the volunteers and career staff of the
Manassas Volunteer Fire Company had the opportunity
to train in the most realistic setting possible. A
home, slated for destruction, on Godwin drive was
donated to the Company so that the firefighters
could use it to conduct live fire training
exercises. Crews ran different scenarios all day
long, allowing the newer members to get some
invaluable experience and the more weathered fireman
an opportunity to hone their skills and pass on some
of their knowledge and tricks. The opportunity for
this type of training is rare but very beneficial
so, if you wish to donate your property to the fire
company, we certainly would put it to use. Its also
a lot cheaper than paying a contractor to tear it
down. For more information on donating your
property, contact the firehouse during normal
business hours at (703) 368-6211.
