FIRST DUE BASEMENT
FIRE ON LANDGREEN STREET |
|
January
31, 2000
-
At 1530 hrs, a
house assignment was dispatched to 9218 Landgreen
Street for a reported fire in the basement.
Tower 1, responding to a medical local, diverted to
Landgreen and arrived first on the scene. The fire
had already flashed and as the Tower crew was
conducting a primary search, they realized it had
burned the floor out in the back portion of the
house. Engine 1, slightly delayed because they had
to pick up their lineman who drove the ambulance on
a previous call to the hospital, arrived shortly
thereafter. Immediately they ran an 1 1/2 line
through the front door however, they were unable to
access the basement. Deciding to reposition,
the crew quickly relocated the line to the back of
the house. By the time the 2nd due company
arrived, Engine 1 had a good knock on the fire.
Fire Chief 1 (Lesnick) had command. |
