FIRST DUE HOUSE
FIRE ON LAWS DRIVE |
|
April 22, 2001
-
At 1908 hrs, the
members of Company 1 were alerted to a house fire at
1908 Laws Drive. Engine and Chief 1 were first to
respond. On arrival they found a single story ranch
style home with heavy fire showing through the roof
of the home and attached garage. The crew from
the engine initiated an interior attack with a 2
inch line through the front door. Soon after their
arrival, Engine 1-1, Engine 1-2, Tower 1 and Attack
1 plus units from Prince William County arrived and
went to work. Chief 1 (Lesnick) had command
and gave the interior forces 5 minutues before he
decided to have the evacuation tones sounded.
As crews pulled out of the building and set up for
heavy duty operations the fire still roared through
the entire roof section of the home. Companies
had several lines in service and the fire was under
control in about 20 minutes. Company 1 units cleared
at 2153 hours. |
