GENIUS SAYS METEORITE
STARTED BRUSH FIRE |
|
April 5, 2005
- At around 1040 this morning, units were alerted to a
possible commercial building fire at 9906 Liberia
Avenue. While responding, City Fire Communications
told the units that this was a fire next to the structure.
The Foam Engine and Tower arrived to find a citizen
pointing to a small flat piece of metal in the parking
lot with some burnt pieces of paper on it. He told
the Foam Engine's officer that a meteor must have come
down from the sky and caught the mulch of fire so he
scooped it up with that piece of metal to get it way
from the building. Befuddled, the crew stomped the burning
newspaper out and called for the FM. Thanks to the
citizens quick action the
building was saved along with the rest on the flower
bed. The scene was
turned over to the FM to await the arrival of NASA
scientists and the companies went back in service. |
