FIRST DUE HOUSE FIRE

December 2, 2003 - Just after 10pm, Manassas City Fire Communications dispatched a house assignment for the 8700 block of Antonia Avenue.  Engine 501, upon arrival, reported heavy smoke showing from a two story single family dwelling.  The Engine's crew ran an inch and a half line through the front door and got a quick knock on the fire which involved a deck in the rear of the house.  Tower 501 arrived along with the Engine and began performing a search of the structure as well as ventilation operations.  While crews were opening up, they found minor extension into the attic. Even though the fire was quickly extinguished, units remained on the scene performing overhaul and salvage operations until they cleared at 0024.
