MEMBERS GET SOME IN HOUSE TRUCK COMPANY TRAINING

January 30, 2005 - Today members drilled at the old Mikes Diner on Sudley Road across from the Prince William Hospital.  Some of topics covered during the drill were large area search techniques, SCBA confidence drills with new version SCOTT air packs, ventilation, and forcible entry. Chief Pope gave a demonstration showing the entanglement dangers of flex duct.  The outer material of the duct, when exposed to fire melts leaving the reinforcing wire which falls to the floor and turns a giant slinky which firefighters can get tangled up in. About 20 members participated in the all day drill.
