TOWER
SPECIALED ON BUCKHALL HOUSE FIRE |
|
January
3, 2006 - At 1833
hrs, Tower 501 responded with six volunteers on mutual
box
16-06 for a report of fire in a home at 10990 Stonebrook Drive.
Not normally due on the box, Tower 501 was special
called to respond as the only special service piece on
the alarm. Wagon 516 arrived and reported heavy fire
from the second floor. They stretched a line and made entry. When the Tower arrived, there was still
plenty of fire in the house. Their crew split into two
teams. The Officer, Hook, and Bar Man went in and began
opening up for the two engine companies operating
inside. The Outside Vent Man and Roof Man through
ladders and began ventilating. Companies extinguished
the large amount of fire
on the second floor but, with vaulted ceilings and
holes in the floor, crews had a particularly tough
time getting to what was left in the attic and
numerous voids. A member of the Tower's crew removed
two cats from the home. They cleared at 2059
hours. |
