HAZMAT
LOCAL ON NOKESVILLE ROAD |
|
March 30, 2005
- Just in time for rush hour traffic this afternoon,
communications sent Foam Engine 501 out to investigate a
substance in the roadway at Godwin Drive and Nokesville
Road. They arrived to find containers of
concentrated termite poison leaking in the travel lanes.
The company officer requested the HAZMAT and the Support
Unit. Crews donned Tyvek suits and went to work
picking up the substance. An impatient motorist's
commute was delayed even longer when they drove their fancy
Avalanche around the Foam Engine which was partially
blocking the roadway and into the spilled product.
Crews now had to also decon the passenger vehicle.
In the end crews removed 2 gallons of product and the
crews turned the scene over to the FM and PD at 1655
hrs. |
