ANOTHER TRAPPED IN THE FIRST DUE

May 30, 2007 – At 1621 hours this afternoon, Engine, Tower, and Chief 501 were dispatched to the intersection of Liberia and Mathis Avenues for a personal injury accident with the report of one trapped. Crews arrived to find just that and extricated the one victim. A total of four patients were transported from this accident. Chief 501 (Holman) had the command. Crews went ready at 1728.

CREWS FIND TRASH FIRE IN NEIGHBORS GARAGE

May 29, 2007 At 1551 hours this afternoon, mutual box 25-07 was struck for a townhouse on fire at 10640 Bristow Station Drive, bringing Engine 501 as the 3rd due engine company and Tower 501 and the 1st due truck. While the Engine staged, the Tower assisted Engine 525 and Wagon 505 with checking the home. Crews quickly determined the fire was coming from the garage next door, at 10638. Crews forced entry and made their way to the garage and extinguished a small fire. The Tower overhauled and ventilated, and went ready at 1643 hours.

FOAM ENGINE RUNS COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE IN YORKSHIRE

May 22, 2007 – At 0306 hours this morning, mutual box 08-03 was transmitted at the request of the cops on the scene with smoke showing from a commercial building at 8351 Birch Street, in Yorkshire. Engine 508 arrived, reported smoke showing, and deployed a line. Inside they were met with heavy smoke and high heat. Foam Engine 501 arrived quickly behind 508 and secured the water supply. They split into two crews, one backing up 508 while the other began ventilation. The fire was reportedly started when a pet python got out of its cage, knocking over its heat lamp which in turn caused the fire. The snake was located in the building unharmed. The Foam Engine went ready at 0411 hours.

TOWER REMOVES TWO ON NOKESVILLE ROAD

May 21, 2007 A 1808 hours, Manassas City Fire Communications transmitted the local for a personal injury accident with people trapped in front of 10100 Nokesville Road. Foam Engine and Tower 501 arrived to find a rear end collision accident with two people trapped in one of the vehicles. The Foam Engine deployed a handline while the Tower removed the drivers door free the occupants. Both units went ready at 1846 hours.

CREWS FIND A CAR INTO A HOME IN GEORGETOWN SOUTH

May 15, 2007 At 1611 hours today, Foam Engine, Tower, and Chief 501, along with units from the Rescue Squad, responded to 9259 Byrd Drive for the report of a vehicle into a building. They arrived to find just that. Crews checked the home for occupants, did some shoring, and evaluated the driver who was uninjured. Units went ready within 30 minutes.

FOAM ENGINE SPECIAL CALLED ON NOKESVILLE HOUSE

May 08, 2007 At 0129 hours this morning, Foam Engine 501 was special called on mutual box 25-16 for fire in a home at 9191 Worthington Drive. On arrival, the Foam Engine encountered a large amount of fire still engulfing the home. They operated on the second floor and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. They went ready at 0332 hours.

MANASSAS FIREMEN PARTICIPATE IN DRILL WITH LOCAL TOWING COMPANY

May 04, 2007 – Today firefighters from Manassas City were given the chance to sit in on a tow truck operators seminar where new equipment and specialized techniques were displayed. This was a valuable opportunity for the firemen because it allowed them to see what special services the tow companies could provide us on the scene.
