|
November
25, 2004
- At 0503 hrs, Prince William County Fire Communications dispatched
a street assignment on Box 1113 for
a house fire on
King George Drive in the Stonewall Jackson area of the
county. Wagon 511 arrived on the scene and reported
heavy fire to the rear of a two story single family
dwelling.
Engine
501 arrived on scene, identified a secondary water
supply and was assigned as the rapid intervention team.
As the crew from the Engine preformed a walk around of
the house to familiarize themselves with its layout
and fire location, they quickly threw 4 ladders to the
building since, Truck 511 did not, breaking out the
windows in order to open up points of egress and to vent
the smoke and gases from the house. As crews were
hitting the fire, the power lines to the house burned
through and fell to the ground arching on a metal
fence. A Virginia Power representative arrived just as
the lines fell and quickly secured them before they
became an issue. The fire was quickly knocked down due
to an aggressive interior attack by Wagons 511 and 508 and Engine
501 cleared the scene at 0537. |
