ENGINE FINDS SMALL FIRE IN FIRST DUE HOUSE |
|
September 12, 2007
–
At
1915 hours, Manassas City Fire Communications
transmitted box alarm 81-11 for fire in an occupied
dwelling at 9210 Centreville Road. Engine 501A,
already on the air, was quickly on scene and found
light smoke inside the home. As they stretched their
line in, they located a small fire in the A, B
corner wall and floor with possible extension into
the crawl space. AS the Engine was extinguishing the
fire, Chief 501 (Ward) arrived and established the
command. Engine 509 was ordered to check crawl space
and found a smoldering fire in joists and floor
structure. The fire originated in crawl space after
an unlicensed contractor was sweating pipes earlier
in the evening. Units went ready at 2033 hours. |
